1. Thumba- On the first day of Onam, known as Attam,
the Pookalam starts with Thumba, also called Ceylon Slitwort. This tiny white

of the Chethi flower enhances the overall allure of the Pookalam. Its intense
colour adds a touch of magnificence to the arrangement.
5. Shankupushpam (Butterfly Pea)- The vivid blue
petals with a yellow center of the Shankupushpam flower make it a popular

adds a vibrant and captivating element to the design.
6. Chembarathi (Hibiscus/ Shoe Flower)- The deep crimson shade of the Chembarathi flower, also known as Hibiscus or Shoe Flower, radiates a divine aura when incorporated into the Pookalam.
